With GLS bidding increasing spurred by Chinese developers, future projects are set to be priced higher and higher psf, creating a spillover effect into resale private properties and the general market at large. MND's objective is curbing runaway prices, but isn't the government the cause?

Indeed your interpretation of how the market is behaving is logical, but the last thing to support such a move is that the market needs to move one way or the other. A stagnant market is no good for anyone.

The whole line of professionals, builders, architects, lorry drivers and etc behind the construction industry needs to have constant projects to work on, otherwise they will go jobless, therefore with another type of spillover effect.

It is ironic, but then, part and parcel of the market development.
