The main difference will be the restrictions imposed for purchasing a brand new EC, where there is a minimum occupation period to meet prior to encashing the asset if you are looking to do so. For private condo, you are able to do so anytime subjected to the applicable Seller's Stamp Duty rate. If you do not foresee yourself needing to liquidate this asset within the timeframe from TOP, I would definitely say that EC will be a wiser option as the outlay is typically lower than a private condo, with similar potential of capital appreciation after meeting the minimum occupation period.

Hi

You will not be eligible to buy as a single Singaporean, aged 35 a new EC. However, you are able to buy a Resale EC.

There is not much of a difference between the 2 products since the price is comparable.

Good day .

You alone cannot buy a subsidised new EC . However 2 unrelated singaporean above 35 years of age can together buy a new subsidised EC .

If you are comparing resale EC and resale condo , the differences are very litte , generally the resale EC is very slightly cheaper than other condo .
