Hi, yes an agreement is still consider a legal document in the eyes of the law. However, without professional assistance provided, you as a tenant or landlord could end up with emotional stress and sleepless night should any dispute happen along the way.

Landlord and Tenant can sign a Tenancy Agreement without going through an Agent.

As Aaron rightly pointed out, agents have the proper experience and training to help in the process to ensure that contract does not put their client (tenant or Landlord) in a worse off position or subject to possible future disputes.

You need to STAMP the contract. Otherwise, should there be any court case, it cannot be used as proof.
