Hi, it really depends. Some of the investors would go for an ageing leasehold condo as it is generally cheaper and has en bloc potential. Again, it has to do with location too.

Hi there,

It is not necessarily a bad investment. Some investors prefer to purchase an ageing leasehold condo due to lower quantum and higher returns. Also, there is the possibility of enboc.

For example, older condos such as Mandarin Gardens are popular with investors. The quantum is much lower than many condos nearby and the returns are higher.

For investment objectives-
I believe you should be more concerned with the quantum, location, rate of returns and rental yield. Tenure should not be of an issue because the older the property, the higher chances of enbloc as well which is still a win win situation for you.
