I want to appeal to HDB for another chance to buy a new flat, though, I'm not eligible (had done twice to the purchase application). I am a senior in my 60s, now residing in a condo. Is there any new scheme available? How best can I look at it?

Hi Sir/Mdm,

For your situation, HDB will not allow you to purchase a BTO since you are currently holding a private property and had used up both your chances. You may want to consider getting a resale condo instead?

Hi there, there is actually a scheme for senior citizen for 2 room flexi HDB which might work for you. As for the normal BTO, I am afraid that's out of the picture currently as you have already used out 2 chances and also holds an private property at the moment. For an appeal to HDB to be successful, there must be sufficient grounds to do so. With the primary objective of providing affordable housing for Singaporeans as a form of public housing, your situation of having your appeal succeed will be quite tough since you are a private property owner. For elderly applicants that have used up 2 chances, they are still eligible to purchase only a new 2 room flat under flexi scheme. I am also glad to inform you that applicants for 2 room flexi scheme is not required to meet the 30 months private property disposal rule before being able to purchase a new HDB.
