I'm PR, wife is Singaporean. We bought a resale HDB 7 years ago. Can we still purchase a private condo and keep the HDB flat? As I heard PR is not allowed to have HDB and condo concurrently.

Yes u can. However you will be subject to absd for your 2nd property.

As long as there is an SC owner, you can purchase condo and keep both hdb & condo. ABSD applies. Thanks and hope to assist further with your plans.

With your first unit purchased with SC counterpart as the co-owner, either or both of you will be eligible for the purchase of private property upon fulfilling the MOP. However, ABSDayable will vary based on who is buying the second property.

For your information, as long as your household has at least one Singaporean, you are eligible to purchase a private property after you fulfill your MOP.

But to take note of these few stuffs:

1) additional buyer's stamp duty. if purchase under your name or both names, it will be 10%. If solely under your wife, it will be 7% as Singaporean.
2) If you still have outstanding housing loan, your max loan will only be 50%.
3) If you have utilised CPF OA funds in current HDB, you need to set aside half of minimum sum ($80.5k) in your CPF OA + SA before you can use the excess OA funds in this purchasing.

Yes of course, you can keep both HDB and the property in Iskandar if you purchase a private property in Singapore. There's no requirement for you to sell off both units.

Based on your info, YES you can purchase a private condo and still hold on to your HDB.

Do note that you (PR) will be subjected to ABSD for your 2nd property.

If 2nd property is purchased in both yours and your wife's name, the higher of the 2 ABSD applies.
