Hi, I'm a Singaporean turning 55 next February and would like to invest my CPF savings in purchasing a condo for rental. My OA has about 200k and need expert advise in either a 1 or 2 bedroom unit.Thanks

Hi,

May I know if you have already used CPF OA for another residential property at the moment? If so, you will also need to set aside the basic retirement sum before the excess CPF OA funds can be used for the 2nd property purchase.

May I have more info and requirements about your plans so to make better recommendations? Thanks and look forward to value-add to your housing plans.

Good morning buyer,

It's probably a great time to start working on your property purchase.

Your purchase completion must be before you turn 55 years old if not you most likely unable to utilise all CPF OA funds.

Purchase of 1 or 2 beds will depends on the location and tenant pool. If you are intending to buy a 1 bed in outskirts, it might not make sense as you wont be able to have constant supply of tenants or you have to press down on rental to attract tenants.

Secondly its down to affordability as well. We should buy within means right?|

By the way, care to share more about your current situation so I will be in a better position to advise you further?

1) do you own any property right now?
2) if yes, is there still any outstanding loan and utilise CPF?
