I am a tenant renting a condo in singapore, when first moved in, I feedbacked that the air con unit was not working satisfactory but landlord said to monitor and suggest that i turn it on 2 hours before bed so the bedroom will be cooled by then.

3 months later i called the servicing guys in and they told me that the aircon was mouldy and some parts were broken which may have resulted in the unit not working properly.

Repair costs are expensive, so can i ask who is responsible for this repair cost? Thanks in advance.

Hi Tiffany,

You should look into the tenancy agreement to see if anything has been written to indicate who is responsible for the repair costs. Is the apartment an old apartment? Why not speak to the agent who brokered the transaction?
