Hi, gurus,
I am a citizen, my wife is PR. We are jointly holding a HDB, fully paid. We are looking for a condo nearby a good primary school and keep our HDB for the sake of a stable income. May I have the advice on the best way to avoid the current heavy ABSD. Is it possible for my wife to hold the HDB with my name as essential occupier, so I can buy the condo as my 1st property? (Financial of either of us for bank loan should not be an issue)

Hi there, in your situation, the only possible solution would be for you as a Citizen to hold on to the HDB and for your wife to purchase an Private property. but as she is a PR, you will still be liable for a additional 5% absd compared to 7%. the other method would be to take a look at your main objective in this exercise and look at other alternative. In order to do that, I would need more details and your objective in the next 5 years . Do drop me a call or e mail for a detailed discussion before you decide on your properties plan.
