Are you the essential occupier or just a normal occupier? If you are the essential occupier, you will have to fulfill the MOP before you are allowed to purchase any residential property under your name.

If you're just the occupant, you are eligible to purchase a new condo.

However, if you're the essential occupier, which means your name is needed for the purchase of this flat, then you will need to fulfill the 5-year MOP before being able to purchase another residential property.
