Hi all. Me and my wife are Singaporeans. We have a 5 room HDB in the north - very near KTPH and the new Yishun Community Hospital and upcoming medical centre. which will reach its MOP next year. Though both of us are born Singaporeans, we spent many years away from Singapore and thus, probably our understanding of the HDB market is limited. Seeing the recent down of the HDB and property market in general - we are unsure whether we should sell the HDB and exit the HDB market and invest in a condo for own living and buy another small condo for investment purposes. Guru's take on this? Bottom line - we are looking for another property to purchase after MOP.

Morning,

As of the moment, the property market is on the down trend but buying volume is picking up. Hence it's tough to estimate the market situation next year. In general, it's always good to have more than one property in holding which will increase your nett worth and allow passive income. Even with that said, it's also vital to work on your budget and stay above the water.

Hi, if your finances allow, investing in a private property would be a better choice as HDB is no longer an investment anymore as compared to the past years where you could still received 50k to 100k COV. Pls feel free to let me know if you need any assistance.

It depends on your housing objectives and whether financially it is a viable option. The HDB market will continue to moderate downwards slightly this year until cooling measures start to revise (if any).
