A typical private sale transaction takes around 8 to 12 weeks from the exercise of OTP to complete.

Terms of option period can vary, though most commonly is 14 days.

The period of marketing and finding a buyer varies too. It is dependent on various factors (but not limited to):
- property type
- property location
- property price quantum
- demand vs supply in the area
- proficiency level of the real estate agent
- marketing strategies employed
- luck (though I believe in making my own luck)

The time is broken up into 3 phases

1. The Marketing Phase
2. The Option Phase
3. The Completion Phase

In phase 1, it can take from as short as 1 day to a few months long, depending on the market conditions, condition of your house, and your selling price.

Phase 2 is usually 2 weeks, and it starts from the time a buyer who placed the 1% option is found.

Phase 3 is usually 10-12 weeks.

So in total, it takes about 3-4 months to complete a sale of private property.
