Hi,

Its a waitout period of 30 months (hence 2.5 years) after selling your 1st EC if you intend to upgrade to a bigger new EC. A resale levy applies as well. Theres no workaround on this. You may want to consider getting the bigger EC unit right from the start.

There are some cases whereby young couples go for a smaller EC unit, reap the appreciation and thereafter make the jump to a larger private condo or use the profits to pay up their resale HDB fully. Perhaps that might be the similar for your case.
