The turnaround time for a HDB resale depends on

1) the volume of transaction at HDB.
You are given 14 days to exercise your option to purchase. This is for buyer to obtain loan approval. Whether bank or HDB loan, it is best to apply even before looking for an unit. As of today if you exercise the option, the first appointment with HDB is 9th Oct.

2)the time taken between 1st and 2nd appointment
Typical is 6-8 weeks needed from the various dept like the legal, IRAS and CPF processing. If cash transaction you can request the HDB officer at first appointment to shorten the 2nd appointment date.

Hope the above would give you an idea that many departments are involved in a HDB transaction.
