Hi...I am looking for a property to buy in Singapore. The key is that it can allow us to have a Labrador legally as I know big sized dogs are not HDB approved. Do you have a list of properties available? What kind of price range are we looking at? We are keeping our options very open as we have not been back in Singapore for the last 4 years & this is also our first purchase so will require as much information as possible.

Hi Lydia,

Which area do you wish to find out more? Although Singapore is pretty small, there's still a whole lot of properties available and it is better for yourself to have a preference to begin with.

Since you have a labrador that you're bringing here, it's a better choice definitely for a unit with a patio for your dog to move about easily and definitely, the place should be near amenities or best enough, near your workplace.

I hope to assist you as much as i can by rounding down a perfect unit for yourself. I have a few listings that might interest you but ultimately it has to coincide with your preference.

If you can furnish me more details at clintonlimzj@hotmail.com, it'll be deeply appreciated.

Hope to hear from you soon Lydia,

Hello Lydia,

Greetings from Singapore.
The Labrador is a beautiful dog! Its size though makes for interesting living in condominiums and apartments. They thrive best in landed property that have ample garden space for them to run about in.

As you have correctly pointed out, HDB flats do not allow "big" dogs in them, for the simple purpose that the flats are not big enough for them.

That leaves us with 2 avenues:

1. Condominiums with large units that have yard space - Doggie toilet(3 bedroom and above)
2. Landed properties

To answer your question on price range, it really depends on the property, its location, the district etc, is there a particular district in Singapore that you would like to live in etc? Off hand, a 3 bedroom apartment/condo can cost between $800K to $1mil plus. Landed homes frm $1mil onwards.

Much has changed in Singapore over the last 4 years, though the things that have certainly remained the same is that property prices have kept climbing in recent times!

When will you be moving back home? That will also determine what properties will be best suited for you.
