Hi all, my divorce proceeding will be done in 3 months time and will like to buy a resale 3rm flat. Can i apply for HLE now or got to wait till 3 mths later when the divorce proceedings are finalised?

Dear Sir/ Madam, I'm sorry to hear of your predicament. Going forward, divorce proceeding takes a few steps from filing a decree nisi, court hearing, a final absolute decree nisi. This may take a few months to a year. If you are selling your existing flat, or/ and buying a new flat, HDB recognises the absolute decree nisi as final. To know how much you could obtain a mortgage, you could do up an IPA (In Principle Approval for Loan) with a financial institution without an obligation.
