Dear Gurus,

May I check if I am eligible to book/purchase an EC or Condo given that I have not completed my MOP? How about if the EC or Condo's TOP is after my MOP?

I'm currently staying in a HDB flat bought under the resale market without grant. This is my 2nd flat and I bought it in Jun 2013. As my first flat was bought using CPF grant, I understand that I will need to pay resale levy if buying EC.

you can choose to buy EC that is no resale levy. and you can buy it. i will share with you the know how of it.

Good morning upgrader,

I am afraid to inform you that you are only eligible to purchase a private property only after you have fulfilled the minimum occupation period.

But since you purchased a resale flat without housing grant, you are eligible to apply for a new EC which TOP date is AFTER your MOP date (June 2018).

Hope my explanation helps!

You can only buy a condo after you have served your MOP for your current HDB.

If you are looking at EC, there are still some ECs in the market that are you do not need to pay resale levy.

Hi Sir/Mdm,

Unfortunately you will only be able to purchase an EC after you met your MOP even if the EC TOP date is after your MOP date.

You will be considered a 2nd timer and yes the resale levy is applicable. Currently, there are some projects that are exempted from resale levy but it is unlikely that you will be in time to purchase these projects.
