What to expect from the Sembawang BTO Flats (Sun Sails)

1) Minutes away from Canberra MRT and Sembawang MRT by foot

Your first impression of staying in Sembawang might be having to endure poor transport access. Although perhaps once true, That couldn’t be further away from the truth now, especially when it comes to these Sembawang BTO flats.
The flats are located near two MRT stations: Canberra MRT and Sembawang MRT. Both are only about a 10-minute walk away.
With Sembawang MRT Station located on the North-South Line (NSL), you’ll have direct train access to the CBD area. From Canberra MRT, it takes around 45 minutes to get to City Hall MRT Station.
In addition, it will be easy to get to stations on the Circle Line. You only need to take a 20-minute train ride to Bishan MRT Station, then and hop on the Circle Line from there.

2) Lots of recreational amenities: Two malls, Bukit Canberra, and Sembawang Hot Spring Park

Sun Plaza and Sembawang Shopping Centre

Near Sembawang MRT, you can shop at Sun Plaza, a mall with 170 stores, a cinema, and a host of entertainment facilities. Sun Plaza also has a range of restaurants and eateries, leaving you spoilt for choice.
Apart from Sun Plaza, you can visit Sembawang Shopping Centre for more mall offerings. This mall will be just across the road from the BTO flats.

Canberra Community Club

If you’re into sports and recreational activities, you can visit the nearby Canberra Community Club, an 11-minute walk away. Here, you can sign up for a range of recreational classes like yoga, ballet, and a host of performing arts courses.

Bukit Canberra hub

In 2020, Bukit Canberra will be progressively opened. In this integrated hub that’s only a 9-minute walk away, you’ll get to enjoy access to large swimming pools, indoor sports courts, and even an active health lab for residents to learn healthy cooking skills.
On top of that, there’s also an outdoor forest gym and jogging trails where you can stay fit while enjoying Sembawang’s conserved greenery.

3) Sembawang Hot Spring Park and other neighbourhood parks

Are you a nature lover? If so, you’ll definitely enjoy the many parks located around the Sembawang BTO flats, especially the Sembawang Hot Spring Park.
Re-opened in early 2020 with many new offerings, the hot spring park is only a 10-minute bus ride from the flats.
Here, you’ll get to enjoy a foot bath at the cascading pools and even cook hot spring eggs at the egg cooking station! There’s also a scenic floral walk within the park where you’ll get to see fruit trees and edible plants common in Singapore’s kampungs in the past.
