Good evening,

you are only eligible to buy a resale HDB under non citizen spouse scheme if your wife is a foreigners thus grants are based on singles.

But if your wife is a SPR, you can get almost double of what singles are getting. Would that be better?

Yes, you will be entitled to more Grants if your Wife is converted to SPR. This is because you can purchase the flat under Public Scheme instead of Non-Citizen Spouse Scheme.

Hi,

1) If you already bought, you will not receive more grants for your spouse SPR approval.
2) If you only buy after your spouse received her SPR status, you will receive higher grant.

3) The grants are as follow:
(a) Non-Citizen spouse scheme; Single grant = $25k
(b) Public Scheme (SC+SPR); family grant = $40k

(c) Proximity grant:
(i) NCS; Single proximity = $10k
(ii) Public Scheme; family proximity = $20k

4) The maximum difference is $15k + $10k when you buy under Public Scheme.
