Wife and I are staying in an EC that we bought together. It's wife 1st house and it's my 2nd time purchase. My first was directly from HDB.
If we were to sell this EC, can wife buy a BTO with me as occupier?

Hi,

Is this current EC bought directly from Developer brand new? If so, you would have purchased subsidized housing 2 times, and this means you are no longer eligible for subsidized housing (BTO). Even putting you as occupier will not help because the eligibility condition is both owner and core occupier cannot have enjoyed more than 2 time subsidized housing. You can also write in to confirm your status whether 2nd or 3rd timer.

Dear sir/mdm,

Assuming that the current EC is purchased directly from developer, that means that you have used up both your chances, therefore as a married couple where HDB will consider that both of you as 1 entity, you would not be eligible for BTO even if just listing you as an occupier. Your option will be to sell of your current EC, wait out 15 months in order to purchase a resale HDB, unless both of you are age 55 years and above then you can purchase a resale 4 room flat or smaller immediately when you sell your current EC.
