You can purchase resale HDB unit under non-citizen spouse scheme. Otherwise, you can purchase condo unit as well.

Hi David,

As Mike has mentioned, Yup you are eligible for both public housing (resale hdb) under non citizen spouse scheme and private housing (condo).

If both of you are looking at landed, you have to seek approval from land dealing unit under singapore land authority before your landed house search.

    I understand for a resale non citizen spouse scheme, my spouse needs to have a long visit pass. If she gets it, does she need to be in the country during the duration?

    Reason I am asking is that we intend to buy a property here, preferably resale, and I move to her country to work for awhile with her.

    What options do I have besides private property? Is resale possible then?

As a Singaporean, there are many various housing option available for you - Public or Pte housing and minimum restriction despite married to a foreigner.

Do note on the additional buyer stamp duties apply if you plan to buy pte property with your spouse who is a foreigner.

If you are planning to buy a landed property and register it together with your spouse who is a foreigner, you will be required to seek approval from Land Dealing Unit (LDU) for clearence.
