With a 15-20 yr plan to live in SG, it is good to purchase a private condo or apartment. It can be old or new. A lot depends on your budget and preference for location.

Though HDB is a cheaper alternative, as HDB properties age, prices tend to stagnate, unlike private apartments. Do you know you can buy 3bed condos for less than 900k? Some HDB are selling for a lot more than that. Also, HDB comes with a lot of restrictions. HDB flats are not cheap any more unless they are super old.

Both you and your Husband will need to be SPR for more than 3 years before you're eligible to purchase a HDB resale flat.

If you have met this criteria, only want HDB flats, and budget is not an issue, I would suggest you to go for 5RM or Executive flats in prime locations.
