We are young SG couple looking for new nest.We not sure if we should get condo or resale hdb as BTO is taking too long. For loan to condo by bank, we can get around 980k but we do not have enough cash for 5% down payment. What do you experts advise?

In my opinion, both choices will entail some cash outlay (resale hdb will need some reno), condo will require 5% cash downpayment. So I guess the question to ask is how comfortable you are with the monthly mortgage and what kind of location is preferred and also your lifestyle goals.

As you have issues with the 5% cash down payment, why not look into HDB resale property in estate or area that have more capitalization growth? This will help you move a step forward to the possibility of owning a condo after MOP.
