We are planning to buy resale HDB under fiance-fiancee scheme. This is our first property and we are SC + SPR.
Can we do SC (essential occupier) and SPR (owner)? If we do this, do we need to pay 5% ABSD?

My understanding is that the 5% ABSD will be applicable as the ABSD waiver is for first matrimonial home where both needs to be owners of the property for the remission of ABSD to apply.

You may wish to check with IRAS for a more accurate answer.

Hi

SPR cannot be sole owner of hdb, so you have to apply with SC citizen as owner and SPR as occupier if you want to do the owner occupier approach. ABSD remission is possible if its the first matrimonial home, but you have to produce the marriage cert within the stipulated period.
