We are a Singaporean couple (husband citizen and me PR) currently working overseas. We are considering to bu a property in Singapore for long term investment. Near term we will rent out the property for rental yield and in future we may move back to Singapore. We have overseas property. Any practical suggestion on property with a reasonably good yield and good infrastructure? Budget depends on location of the property but prefer $1 million to 2 million Sgd. We also wish to know all associated coats for transactions. Btw, we are in late 30's.

HI Ms Anne Ho,

based on your discription, I will recommend a nice 2 room flats, in district 9(orchard/river valley),10(tanglin/holland),11(Newton/Novena). You can expect a good value for house, and easy to rent out and reasonable rental yield. maybe district 4(harbourfront) can be considered as well.

For the cost, will be the cost for the house + 3% stamp duty. That about all the cost here. Normally bank will cover for lawyer fee if you are taking bank loan.

Welcome to contact me if you need further assistance. The agent service for buyer is free of charge. Thanks.

Hi Mrs Ho,

Given your criteria, you are looking for something with good rental yield. It would be best to look for something in central singapore as rental yield is higher. I have quite a few units in central region as I am active in that area and have the knowledge to help you in your queries. More importantly, I was an ex-banker, therefore I am able to provide you a hollistic solution to even your financial queries, but of course the experts are still the current bankers. Do drop me a call and we can help to answer all your queries.

With regards,
