Under mgps, uds that parents will need to downgrade to a 2-3room. What if my parents own a private property (3rm or bigger). Will they have to sell n downgrade as well? Or the selling only applies if parents own hdb

Hi,

If your parents own private property, they need to sell or dispose their interest in this property first, wait out 30 months first, before they are eligible to apply for 99 year leasehold new BTO flats 2-room or 3-room.

If they are 55 years and above, going for Short-lease 2-room Flexi flat (15 to 45 years lease) or Community Care Apartment from HDB, no need to sell and wait out 30 months first, can apply together with you now. But these flats are meant for stay and cannot be resold in future.

If they own hdb now, no need to sell yet until bto key collection. But their Current HDB MOP of 5 years must have been fulfilled.

Hi, appreciate your sharing. Are both of them above age 55 ? If Yes able to seller private and purchase a 4 room or lower unit. If not above age 55 for both, have to await 15 months.
