Together with 4 elder siblings, we inherited a landed property from my late father. And my siblings have no intetion to sell the landed property yet. As such, this ineritance is affecting my next HDB purchase.

May I ask, can I transfer this inheritance to my 19 year old daughter, so that I can proceed with my HDB purchase? If possible, how do I go about completing this transaction.

Hi,

Your daughter can't legally take over as she is yet to be 21 years old. One way will be to sell your share to your siblings. The other challenge is the 15 month wait out period, which you need to observe after disposing your ownership share in the private property.

Hi Mic,

Your daughter will need to be at least 21 years old to take over your share of the property and by taking over, it may affect her chance of getting a BTO in the future. Under the current HDB rules and regulations, if you and husband are below the age of 55 years old, you will also need to observe the wait out period of 15 months after transferring the share before you are eligible to purchase a HDB flat.
