The 2nd week after we moved into the rented apartment, we found that there was a ceiling seepage. We informed the landlord and agent immediately. Unfortunately, the landlord and agent claimed that it is not their job to rectify the seepage, it is the responsibility of the owner upstairs. The owner upstairs agreed to rectify the problem provided the landlord share with him the repair cost equally. Unfortunately, landlord refused. Can anyone advise whose responsibility is to repair the seepage. As the seepage is rather bad and it is in the hall, it poses danger for our family. What is the rights of the tenant? Landlord's agent said that we can't terminate the contract. What does the MCST law states?
