Some general questions on renting out a private property:

1) What is the definition of a fully furnished place? What furniture or fittings are necessary to meet the criteria of a fully furnished place?

2) If the renting fees of my place is 2000SGD and an agent helps me to close a deal with a tenant of a 1 year lease, how much commission must I pay to the agent? Half an month plus GST = 1070SGD?

3) For example, my rental deal is closed at 2000SGD per month. I heard from an agent that I do not need to pay for SP services except for the maintenance fees and property taxes. Is this true?

Hi Ling,

You are right in everything you have mentioned for 2 and 3. For a fully furnished unit, it simply means that all necessary furnitures for daily livelihood is included, like washing machine, cooker, refrigerator, dining table and chairs, beds, wardrobes, sofa, tv and etc, however, it is best to check with tenants what do they need instead.

I am pretty curious where are your source of information from.
