Hi Sir,

Should your wife purchase another HDB flat with you, she will have to remove her name from the flat that she co-owns with her Mother.

You may wish to take note of the amount that she will need to refund back to her CPF should she remove her name from the flat. Also, if the flat is still under loan, her Mother will also need to have the capability to support the outstanding loan of the flat.

Upgrading is possible, but before you proceed, first step is to look into your finance and loan ability to determine a comfortable budget for yourself.

Hi,

If she wants to buy HDB with you, she has to remove her name from the ownership from her current hdb so you all can form the family nucleus to purchase. Which means her mum must be able to finance the property on her sole name.

Alternatively, if they like to keep the hdb, you may want to purchase private property on your sole name.

This is a common issue affecting HDB buyers. In order for your wife to purchase a resale of any size together with your wife, your wife needs to remove her name for her current flat ownership (not applicable to some as your mom need to refund your wife back her past CPF contributions towards the flat) or sell off the current flat where your wife and mother will be freed up to purchase another flat.
