My spouse is a non-local planning to get PR. I have a son. I am currently co-owning a hdb with my parents. If my spouse applies for a hdb under just his name, can I be an essential occupier for this hdb while being a co-owner of my parents' hdb?

Hi,

I regret to inform you that this is not possible. As you will need to be included as the essential occupier of the new flat, you will need to sell off your current flat within 6 months of the HDB flat purchase.

No, you are unable to do so, as married husband and wife can only own 1 HDB between them, whether as co-owners or 1 of them being an occupier.

Unfortunately no, as you can only be owner or essential occupier for only 1 HDB flat at any one point of time. Your spouse once he gets SPR, can purchase condo on his sole name not an issue.

Hi,

1) Your spouse is not eligible to buy any resale HDB flat under his PR status.
2) He will need you to be an owner or an essential occupier in the application.
3) You will have to remove your co-ownership of the current flat within 6 months upon the legal completion of the purchase.
