My partner purchase a private a property in Malaysia, as the project has not been completed yet, does it affect me when I apply for HFE and BTO? Do my partner actually owned the property in Malaysia ?

Hi, yes it might affect, as technically the property is under your partner's name. Even when you get by the BTO stage, you can't hold any private property in the 5years of MOP, and might be requested to dispose of it.

Hi,

1) We have to sign a Sales and Purchase agreement when we buy a private property.
2) We will own the property once this agreement is signed.
3) Therefore, this has nothing to do with whether the property is a completed or non-completed property.
4) Once any applicants (owners and occupiers) own a private residential property. You are no longer eligible for an HDB flat.
5) To be eligible for a BTO, all applicants (owners and occupiers) must not own a private residential property locally and overseas for at least 30 months.
