My parents currently own a HDB flat. I am intending to get a private condo 1-2 bedroom apartment. can I buy the private condo together with my mum's name? Is ABSD payable if I were to buy it together with my mom name?

Morning Jo,

If you are to purchase the unit together with your mum, you need to consider the following factors:

1) Have your parents fulfilled MOP of the unit?
2) Is your mum PR or SC?
3) Are you of legal age to own a property in SG?
4) How much loan can you get?

If the answer for 1 and 3 is yes and your mum is SC, you are eligible to purchase a unit with her. ABSD of 7% is payable as this private property will be considered as second property for your mum.
