My mum in law bought a flat in Tampines and her CPF is insufficient hence, my spouse use Bank loan and monthly deductions is through her CPF. In this case can I and my spouse buy a DBSS unit? Or my spouse needs to remove her name first then we are allowed to buy a DBSS unit?

Hi, I'm afraid that your wife will need to have her name remove from the current hdb unit first, before she will be eligible to purchase a DBSS together with you.

Hi,

In your scenario, HDB would require your spouse to meet MOP before she can remove her name to buy another property. You may appeal but chances are slim since the remaining owner (her mum) has to finance the flat herself on her own, before any approval. But since your spouse name was added to relieve her finances, chances will be slim. Alternatively, you may wish to consider selling and moving in together. Thanks and hope to assist further.

Warm regards
