It is always to seek for advices before making any move. It is also common to ask peer's advice for a start, however, if you are not in the trade, properly the advices provided are layman only.

Thus you would have already observe that none of us able to give you a fix or concrete answer over your concern.

The main reason are, we have no access of info over:
(1) Your current financial status
(2) Current and future plan
(3) Estimate of sale proceed
(4) Lending capability dependent on your passive/active income.
(5) Any outstanding loan
(6) live style etc

Whether to sell one and buy two or hold the current one and buy one, the end result is two properties to be owned.

The former objective seems to be aggressive. The key question that I have for you is what would be the risks level that you are prepared and comfortable in taking?
