My HDB MOP is on 1 Jan 2014. Hence, is it possible to commit to buy a private property now, i.e secure the price but commit to buying only in Jan 2014?

Jan 2014 is 366 days from today. No developer will do that for you as it is not allowed.

MOP is minimum occupation period. U can still purchase a condo for investment if you continue to own and stay in your HDB. Read More

As long as you have fulfil your HDB flat MOP or purchase it in the open market without Grant before Aug 2010, you will be eligible to buy a condo Read More

Hi G,

No. Even if it is allowable, I do not think any seller would agree with this condition. If you put yourself in seller shoes, are you willing to sell your property now but only collect the proceeds after 12months for which you maybe able to sell at a better pricing 12months later?
