My family is currently staying in HDB EA unit and are interested in upgrading to EC equipvalent but the 5% cash deposit seems to kill off our thoughts. I was told that the 15% cpf/cash can be deferred? Any professionals can assist to check and provide solutions or similar counter?

Hi,

The 5% cash component is a minimum requirement by MAS. If you qualify for 80% bank loan, the balance 15% can be funded by cash or CPF but it can't be deferred. The Deferred Payment Scheme refers to the 80% that can be payable during completion of EC / key collection.

Btw, may I know which EC are you looking at? Perhaps we can explore from there if there are workarounds. May I have more info and requirements about your plans so to make better recommendations? Thanks and look forward to value-add to your housing plans.
