My dad owned the HDB 4room with my mum for past 30 years, and recently he passed on, the HDB is solely under my mum name now.
Can I go apply HFE to buy a resale 4 room HDB Using single scheme ( my age qualified)? and my mum continue owned the existing HDB Flat? , thanks plenty in advance.

Good morning,

care to share about your concern? Is your mom a SPR while you are an essential occupier?

If your mom is a SC, she can own it under single singapore citizen scheme while you can purchase a resale HDB with the same scheme if you are a Singaporean above 35 years old.

Sorry to hear about the unfortunate news, I hope you are managing well. If you are single singaporean citizen aged 35 years and above, yes you can buy resale HDB under your sole name and have your mum stay with you. If your mum is Singaporean, she can rent out her existing hdb as well.

I see that you mentioned that only your mum name is under the HDB, this means that you do not have any property under your name. As long as you are above 35 years old , you can purchase a HDB under singles scheme.

1) Your purchase has nothing to do with your parents' flat since you are 35 years old and older.
2) Your mum definitely can hold on to the existing flat. You are just an occupier in the existing flat anyway.

Eligibility: Since your mum currently owns the sole HDB flat, you wouldn't be applying under the Single scheme with your parents. You would be applying as a single applicant if you meet the age requirement (35 years old and above).
