Good afternoon Sir/ Mdm,

You might want to appeal to HDB directly as you already exceeded the income ceiling.

Alternatively we can look at other options like resale HDB, new EC, condos etc. We can sit down to reassess which will be your next best option.

You may want to appeal directly to HDB, but chances may be slim if there are no other special circumstances. You may want to consider new EC or resale properties as well.

I would like to compliment Mr Ivan Ng for his professional work and effort.I sent my first post in Jan 2019 and Ivan replied promptly, so I have decided to contact Ivan for follow up. My EC was not ready for sale due to MOP (another 3 months from Jan) at that time and Ivan was able to give me advices on how to proceed from there. Initially we have decided to try to write to HDB for early sale but since it was only 3 months left, eventually we waited for another 3 months while we looked for our next property. Ivan was able to arrange for new property showroom appointment at a timely manner while helping us to list for our EC for sale. We were a bit worried when our EC sale time was longer than expected due to trade war, but Ivan was able to reassure us that our EC would sell. By November, he managed to secure a buyer for our EC. Hi,

1) Under your circumstances the chance of a BTO is very slim.
2) At the current moment, based on the current BTO/SBF are all oversubscribed thus they will not have any leeway to allow citizen who does not meet their requirement.
3) So far there is no revision on the income ceiling despite the higher price tag on the Rochor area and Telok Blangah HDB BTO.
4) I would suggest you look into resale flat, EC, or even private rather than waiting for the income ceiling revision.
5) Using TDSR assessment, your household income can loan up to $1.8M if both of you are below 40 yrs old.
6) The longer you hesitate, the price you need to pay for your dream home will be much higher than you think.

Hi,

In order to be eligible to apply for BTO, your combined monthly household income must not exceed $14,000.

As your income already exceeds, you will need to write in to HDB to appeal. The chances of success, to be honest, is very slim.

You may wish to consider HDB resale flats, or private properties instead. Applying for a EC could also be an option for you, as the income ceiling is $16k.
