My brother applied for a BTO flat with my mother after my father passed away and is reaching MOP soon. Neither of my parents had owned any property before.

I am turning 35 soon. Will I be able to apply for a BTO flat again using my mother's name?

Would it be possible for my brother to remove her name from the flat ownership so I can apply for a BTO myself, given that he is the sole financial contributor?

What is the most advisable solution in this situation?

Your brother must be eligible to own the HDB without your mother, if he is, then your mother's name have to be removed from the current property in order to be a co-applicant with you for the BTO, but in this case, she will be considered a 2nd timer. Read More

1) Your brother can remove your mother's occupier status via MYHDB with a reason.
2) The HDB might enquire about the reason for the removal since she is a core occupier.
3) You may only apply the BTO with your mum after the HDB approves the removal.
