Hi,

If his name is added to the HDB, he will need to sell away the condo he owns within 6 months, hence it may not be the best option. You may wish to consider to get a private condo instead. Thanks and hope to assist further.

Hi, for your info and for your case, even if both of you gets married, you can't purchase a resale HDB too as it is supposed to be a fiancé scheme and therefore your boyfriend has to be added into it.

If HDB is a must. You can opt to buy another bigger HDB with parent or sibling if both of you reached 35 years old. You will still be able to keep your name in the HDB after married as long as there are a joint owner name.

Or else, you need to consider to buy a private property on your own.

Once you add your boyfriend's name into the HDB, he will need to sell his condo unit within 6 months. You may want to consider getting another condo instead. However, you will need to pay the Additional Buyer Stamp Duty (ABSD) of 7% on top of the normal stamp duty.

Evening,

As married couple, HDB consider both of you as an entity. He can only be added as essential occupier if you purchase it under non-citizen spouse scheme. Even so, he will be required to remove his ownership on the private property within 6 months of key collection on the HDB unit.
