My 15 month wait out period before I can purchase a resale HDB will end this October. Can I apply for the HFE now, or should I wait until the end of the wait out period in October before I should apply for the HFE?

Also, if I do not intend to take a HDB/bank loan for my upcoming purchase of a resale flat but choose to fully pay in cash + cpf, do I still need to apply for the HFE?

Hi, you will have to wait till Oct before you can apply for the HFE.

Regardless of HDB or bank loan for purchase of the upcoming resale, you will still need a valid HFE. It is a new rule that you need a valid HFE before you can even obtain a OTP from the sellers.

Hi,

Yes HFE needed regardless whether you are taking loan. You can only apply HFE after the 15 month wait out period is over. There will be a question in the HFE application asking if you have sold any private property within the last 15 months, if so they will immediately indicate you can't apply now.

HFE can only be applied upon fulfilling the 15 months wait out period. You will need HFE regardless if you require home loan or not. Also, if you are intending to use CPF to finance the HDB purchase, you will also be required to submit for valuation request. Hope the reply is adequate.
