Assuming that you have a business running or under employment where the income generated from these are able to cover your family living expenses, then it will be good to plan out on how you should utilise the funds generated from the sale of your terrace house in order to grow the portfolio or wealth as your question is pointing out.
If we are looking purely at monetary returns, I have to say that putting the money into a bank for interest growth via FD is probably 1 of the safest option but it does not give you the best growth in terms of returns. The key is that how do you then utilise the proceeds from the sale to purchase multiple properties since the Additional Buyer's Stamp Duty is applicable on the 2nd and subsequent residential properties you own? The commercial and industrial market isn't as rosy too unless you are looking at purchasing office buildings and etc.
Family line comes into this consideration therefore it will be great to know more details about you and your family as well as the mid to long term plans moving ahead in order to prescribe a more optimised proposal.
