Hi,

Unfortunately married couple have to jointly purchase the hdb as a family nucleus due to hdb regulations. You can purchase private property on your own no issue.

May i check if currently you have any property with your husband?

Unfortunately, for HDB BTO/Resale, you need to qualifiy under one of the eligible scheme before you can buy one.

Based on your marital status, you won't be able to purchase a HDB under your own name.

Thus, the only option will be to consider private property which will also be a good reactive income which you can fall back on.

What most important to me is the detailed planning to ensure you can finance the property comfortably.

Hi Mdm,

Yes, you could purchase a HDB flat under your sole name. However, you will need to include your husband's name in the flat, at least as an essential occupier.

Should your marriage unfortunately goes south, it will more "clean cut", as you're the sole owner of the HDB flat.

Hi,

1) You can be the sole owner, but must include your husband in the application, since you're married.
Your husband must listed as essential occupier, meaning he does not contribute to any financial assistance to the flat, but merely an "important" occupier.

2) The only short-coming of such arrangement is he must agree when you dedided to sell in future. Not in the option-to-purchase, but there is a separate form to sign on the sales completion day.

3) He also not entitled to share any sales proceed when this flat is sold, or if your marriage goes south.
