Asked by
Lowest priced dwelling allowed a foreigner to buy.

I have a son in Singapore with his wife and a child. They are Singapore citizens. We are from the Philippines. I am now all alone, 78 years old, a widower. still healthy and active.

I asked my son to sponsor me to live in Singapore and eventually take up Singapore citizenship.

I am now reading up on how to get permanent residence status, but first buy a home, the most frugal, as I don't need anything else than a good roof and safety from unpleasant company and also the elements.

That means first to acquire a modest home, I understand some kind of condo unit.

I think I can pay cash.

Good morning Marius,

Probably you can share more with me so I can work towards your cash reserves. Bear in mind that foreigners are only eligible to purchase private condo, apartments or landed in Sentosa.

Btw do take note that due to your age, I dont think you are able to take up any bank loan so we have to work around with your cash reserves.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Warmest Regards,

I find Singapore and the people very nice to live in and with.

That is why I want to migrate to Singapore.

As you are unless I am wrong, a realty broker and also cognizant of the legalities involved in my case, I am glad that I find in you a person who can guide me all the way to life in Singapore as a citizen of Singapore.

Let me know what is the price range of the most frugal dwelling allowed for purchase by a foreigner.

    Dear YT TAN 陈永达:

Thanks so much for your reply.

If this means anything useful, then allow me to tell you that I have Chinese ancestry and can speak Fookien.

As regards cash, I have saved for retirement, and if you will tell me what is the price of the most frugal dwelling available to a foreigner to buy, I will be able to calculate whether I can buy it, and pursue my agenda to completion, and still have some good balance left to live in Singapore for the remainder of my living years.

A little over two years ago or more I was invited by my son to visit him and stay with him and his family for some ten days.

    [ Continuation follows. ]
