I've my HFE approved, but I'm planning to job hop and during this period, there will be 1-2 months unemployed. Will this affect my HDB housing loan process if I OTP for a resale HDB unit?

HFE income assessment is based on 12 months income, therefore unless there is drastic change in these 2 months and following job that you take on, it should not matter much as HDB may not request for further pay slips at resale application stage unless they deem required. Important consideration will be if your finances can support the purchase during this period on top of the additional costs required like renovation, stamp duties and etc. Are you in a rush to complete the purchase?

I have been in the real estate business since 2009, with more than 13 years of experience serving the Singapore real estate market.

I am very active in the residential segment of Singapore real estate market, having transacted hundreds of deals from HDBs to private condominiums and landed properties in Singapore, and have handled many unique cases in sales and purchases as well as rental deals.

Over the years, I have also established a network reaching out to more than 9,400 expatriates, bringing my market presence to both in and outside of Singapore. This has created an additional exposure when I manage my client's portfolios, on top of the conventional on and offline platforms, where other estate agents are relying on. This has allowed me to consistently convert leads into results.

With an evolving market, where change is the only constant, I have also been investing in upgrading of my knowledge and skills sets to improve myself and meet the demands of current and future market.

If HFE is entirely based of the 12 months payslip and no further assessment is done after that, I'm quite safe then since my HFE is already approved. I'm just worried that if I'm unemployed, will there be any complications before they would provide me with the HDB loan.

If the HDB loan is based on the 12 months payslips submitted, then I don't have to worry and bother actually since the HFE is already approved. I'm only curious if there were to be any further assessment during the process of purchasing the flat if all of a sudden I'm unemployed.
