Hi Mr. Mugen,

In fact, older flat does have their uniquness to purchase.
You only need to understand the restriction of buying such flats:
(1) HDB loan is available only if buyer age + remaining lease >=80.
(2) Amount of CPF usage is restricted according to age + remaining lease.
(3) Most important, you do not planned to move anymore.

There is no right and wrong in purchasing a 40 years old HDB flat. It all depends on your profile and family needs.

Although there are certain restrictions on such flats, it does not mean that it is not suitable for everyone. Everyone's needs are different, hence such flats may still appeal to some people.
