Yes, I think its the right time to buy and unit now if you have the holding power if you are investing. But if you want to stay, why not ? There are lots of condos/apts for sale now at reasonably good price. So its a good catch right now. If you are waiting for prices to drop further, think twice.

5% vaue appreciation by March 2010 maybe difficult to achieve giving the current economic conditions and market sentiments about properties. You may have to hold on for a while before you can realise your gain.

Hi Vij,

This year is certainly a right time for anyone to buy a private condo. Regarding whether it will appreciate by 5% next year, nobody can predict. But if you have done your homework like checking the past transacted price and caveat, and knowing you have a good price in terms of pricing and location, appreciation in years to come should not be a problem.

Property market is a cycle, what goes down will climb up again one day. This year is a down year and you should capitalise this opportunity to invest or upgrade in a private.
