Im waiting to collect keys of my new 4-rm HDB flat. But after key collection, my whole family are moving overseas to work for few years. In this case, can I still renting out the whole flat? Please advise. Thanks!

Good morning!

For your information, HDB owners must fulfill the minimum occupation period first before they are eligible to rent out their whole unit.

But since you mentioned you need to head overseas for work, you can appeal through your HDB branch office to see whether they allow you to do so.

Morning,

With the relevant documents from your employer, you can write in to HDB and request for special approval. However, do note that such case are subjected to review. I have experienced cases where HDB does give the green light but a few faces the harsh truth.
