I'm turning 35 years old in few month and plan to buy a resale 4-room HDB flat under the Single Scheme. My annual income is $38,000, and I have around $100,000 in CPF savings, as well as $100,000 in cash on hand. I'm wondering how much the HDB loan can cover at maximum, and what grants I can qualify for as a first-time buyer and purchasing near to my parent flat. Secondly, Should I get a 2nd job to get more income so that I will be able to get more loan?

Hi David,

I think I have answered your query in an earlier post, you should try to buy around $460k. If you get a 2nd job, it may help to bump up the loan by a bit but its up to HDB assessment because they look at latest 12 months payslips.

Hope the above clarifies. May I have more info and requirements about your plans so as to make better recommendations? Thanks and look forward to value-add to your housing plans.
